Sustainability Management & Provision of Technical Advice, including Specialist SHE Services
This includes the development of sustainability strategies and management of the processes
and activities required for the implementation of the organisation’s Safety, Health,
Environmental (SHE) Policy commitments. This entails ensuring the organisation’s compliance
with the prevailing SHE legislation. This function includes the monitoring and reporting on
prevailing SHE compliance requirements and the conditions of the licences, permits and
authorisations (such as the Water Use Licence, Waste Management Licence, Environmental
Management Programme, Protected Tree Removal Permits, etc.).
The services include, but are not limited to the following:
Risk and SHE Compliance Management
- closing out of risk assessment actions and updating the Baseline and Issue-Based Risk
Assessments;
- compilation of the organisation’s risk profile;
- auditing and monitoring compliance to SHE requirements, obligations and commitments;
- preparing the organisation for audits and inspections conducted by regulatory authorities
- guiding compliance to the requirements of the Railway Safety Regulator and the South African Civil Aviation Authority;
- identifying and managing the organisation’s SHE critical risks;
- compiling and updating the Environmental Management Programme;
- coordinating the legal compliance audits and monitoring the implementation of recommended actions;
- establishing a contractor management system; and
- compiling the requisite safety and environmental files
Waste Management

- facilitate compliance to the waste management legal requirements, including licensing;
- operate the waste management facilities;
- assist with waste minimisation, including recycling;
- collect, sort and dispose of various waste streams; and
- develop and implement waste management strategies
Air Quality Management
- provision of air quality monitoring services
- development of air quality management plans
- management of greenhouse gasses
- applications for air emissions licences and exemptions
- compilation of requisite reports
Land Rehabilitation and Remediation and Biodiversity Management
- develop, implement and monitor rehabilitation and mine closure plans;
- develop and implement biodiversity management plans;
- manage alien and invasive vegetation;
- bio-remediate contaminated soil;
- - cleanup of spillages of hazardous chemicals; and
- provide garden services
SMME Digital Solutions (in partnership with Anora Technologies)
- End-to-end solution covering different components of the business. This includes:
- business process automation (paperless systems)
- workflow automation (incl. digital signatures)
- digital marketing (online presence for exposure to bigger client pool)
- mobile applications
- cloud migration
- e-commerce
- customer relationship management
- internet of things integration
- digital consulting and training
Water Management
- facilitate compliance to the applicable
compliance obligations;
- operate on-site sewage plant operations within
the legal requirements;
- development of storm water management plans
- compile applications for water use licences and
exemptions;
- compile the legally-required Water Use Licence
reports;
- surface and groundwater management;
- water quality and quantity monitoring.
Management of Authorisations, Permits and Licences
- compile applications for licences, permits and authorisations;
- manage the development and implementation of management plans (such as a Biodiversity Action Plan, DMR Audit Action Plan, Waste Tyre
Abatement Plan, etc.)
Environmental Impact Assessments and Stakeholder Management
- manage the Environmental Impact Assessment process.
- independently facilitate the public consultation process, including workshops and meetings;
- provide SHE compliance monitoring and assurance; and
- liaise with external stakeholders (including interested and affected parties) on matters pertaining to SHE.
Facilitation of SHE awareness and training
- facilitation of SHE-related training and awareness campaigns;
- compilation of safetyand environmental awareness topics;
- testing the effectiveness of training;
- development and delivery of SHE awareness materials and signage;
- training and coaching of safety representatives; and
- mentoring of SHE practitioners.
Regulatory/statutory Reporting
- compile and submit legally-required reports,
including reporting on the government’s online
platforms such as NAEIS, SAGERS, etc.
